Sid Leiken is a fourth generation Oregonian, caring husband, engaged father, successful small-businessman, and a Mayor helping bring economic vitality back to a once struggling town. Growing up on a ranch in Roseburg Sid learned the importance of strong character, integrity and work ethic. Sid’s entrepreneurial spirit was developed as a teenager when Sid and his brother raised animals and competed in 4H to earn extra money. As a small business owner Sid had the foresight to use sustainable technologies in the dry-cleaning industry long before it the norm. This demonstrated Sid’s unique ability to look forward to the future not just focus on what’s worked in the past or present. His pragmatic approach has been a strong key to his success. Sid is an effective, innovative and efficient leader. His collaborative approach and fresh perspective are the exact qualities that we need in US House of Representatives. He has a willingness to build partnerships, create opportunities, leverage our investments and make Oregon stronger, right now. - Sid cares about the things that keep people up a night, such as jobs, public safety, home ownership, flourishing local businesses, health care, and an efficient transportation system. He is focused on bringing a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to Congress. His goals are what will keep Oregon a place for folks to nurture their families, do their jobs and enjoy our vast recreational activities.
- Sid understands the importance of hard work and bringing diverse interests together to keep plans charging forward. His approach has helped secured more than one billion dollars of public and private investment in Springfield over the past decade.
- Sid believes in a “can-do” approach and a “get-the-job-done” philosophy. When current issues demand actions, Sid brings together experts that can solve problems and create progress.
Sid and his wife, Debbie have two boys, Zach and Gabe, who are high school students in Springfield Public Schools. Sid is a graduate of South Eugene High School and attended both University of Texas at Arlington and Northwest Christian University.
